This LSU coaching staff has chosen to take advantage of the talent based in their own backyard for the 2024 class and their approach to the transfer portal and keeping these kids home. I do not see that trend stopping in the 2025 class. One of the latest in state offers went to Captain Shreve offensive tackle Devin Harper and he took some time to share his thoughts with me on the LSU offer.
Harper is currently 6'5"-300 lbs and The 247 Sports Composite rankings has him rated Nationally No. 256, Offensive Tackle No. 22, Louisiana No. 9 . Currently holding 18 offers from the likes of LSU, Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Ole Miss and Mississippi State to name a few. When you watch his film he is very strong at the point of attack, typically driving his man back 5 or more yards and has a mean streak to him on the field.
Devin on what schools he is hearing from "All of my offers, plus Florida and Oregon." On what the offer means to him "It means the world , it's a honor and i got offered after a great conversation with Coach Brad Davis." On what it means to him to have the opportunity to represent LSU and play for Louisiana "feels Amazing and I'm very grateful." While he says he does not have any kind of timeline to make a decision there are a few schools standing out to him " LSU, Bama, Georgia and Texas." On what he is looking for in a school "Home Vibe and just the right fit for me personally."
He has plans to get down to LSU on June 10th. I asked him to describe his playing style and if they were any players he looks up to and the answers went hand in hand " Nasty and athletic and Will Campbell" were his answers. When asked what his goals were for his upcoming season and he did not mice words "WIN" .
