2029 & 2030 Elite Softball Prospects Watchlist


As the game of softball evolves, the next generation of talent is rising to impressive heights. In this first look at the softball watch list for 2029 and 2030, we are thrilled to introduce exceptional young athletes destined for greatness. These players not only excel in their current age brackets, but they also show the talent and drive needed to succeed at the highest levels of competition. Additionally, they are players that I feel will be on the radar of LSU Tigers, potentially paving the way for them to wear the iconic purple and gold in the years to come.


This watch list offers a glimpse into the future of softball, with updates every few months to keep fans excited about the stars of tomorrow. Let’s dive into our first few prospects, whose outstanding performances are sure to impress.


1. Makayla Gonglik - Pennsylvania


Ohio Outlaws 09 National Leggins/Wolff

Makayla Gonglik is a standout player from Pennsylvania, currently playing for the Ohio Outlaws 09 National Leggins/Wolff team. This dynamic 2029 prospect is a force not just at her age level but also excels in both 16U and even 18U competitions.

This season, Makayla boasts a batting average of .450 and an excellent slugging percentage of .653. With 5 home runs and 45 RBIs, she has made a significant impact on her team's performance. As a right fielder, her fielding percentage is an impressive .913, underscoring her reliability in the field. Line Drive Media recognizes her talent, ranking her as the #14 overall player and the #2 utility player in her age group.





Her pitching skills are equally striking, notably, her fastball reaches 62 mph, and she has accumulated an impressive 119 strikeouts while only walking 18 batters. She even clocked an overhand velocity of 68 mph and an the plate an exit velocity of 75 mph. Adding to her pedigree, Makayla is the sister of 2027 standout Sydney Gonglik, showcasing that talent runs in the family.



2. Ella Rackley - Georgia


Georgia Impact Premier ‘11 Cleghorn



Next up is Ella Rackley from Georgia, a member of the Georgia Impact Premier ‘11 Cleghorn team. Despite being in 7th grade, Ella demonstrated her skills by playing for her middle school's 8th-grade team, leading them to a perfect 15-0 record and clinching the county championship last fall.





Ella has maintained impressive stats, hitting .433 with 13 hits, including 4 doubles and 7 stolen bases primarily as a third baseman. This spring, she has continued her hot streak, achieving a .565 batting average over 25 games, with 26 hits, 1 double, 6 triples, and 17 RBIs. Her experience with the Georgia Impact Premier Cleghorn, her travel ball team since she was in the second year of 8U, has contributed to her development as an athlete. Notably, Ella is the sister of LSU 2026 commit Addie Rackley, emphasizing their impactful softball legacy.


3. Analiese Holmes - Louisiana


Impact Gold National 2029 - Holmes


Now let’s turn our attention to Analiese Holmes from Louisiana, who competes for Impact Gold National 2029 - Holmes. Her combined performance from 2024 and 2025 showcases her skills and versatility.


Over 109 games, Analiese has made 323 plate appearances, scoring a .437 batting average with a .502 on-base percentage. Her OPS stands at an impressive 1.117, and her slugging percentage is .615. She has achieved 80 singles, 14 doubles, 12 triples, and 4 home runs, resulting in 50 RBIs and 86 runs.





Further showcasing her all-around talent, Analiese has drawn 43 walks and swiped 32 bases, achieving a remarkable fielding percentage of .975. Her ability to contribute both offensively and defensively highlights her potential as a future star in the sport.


Thoughts from defensive instructor Amanda Scully: Analiese shows a mental resilience that is rare among players her age. She strives for perfection while acknowledging it’s impossible to achieve. She tackles challenges directly with grit and determination. Defensively, she’s among the most talented athletes I’ve had the pleasure of coaching. Her natural ability allows her to make adjustments effortlessly. Analiese’s skill level is comparable to some 2025 signees I work with.


4. Alleyana Bolton - Texas


14u Texas Glory Gold



Alleyana is a player who has demonstrated exceptional offensive skills throughout the season, boasting a remarkable batting average of .500, With 52 at-bats and 64 plate appearances, she has consistently found ways to get on base, reflected in her role as a lead off hitter and table setter with impressive on-base percentage of .587. Their ability to combine power and contact is evident in their on-base plus slugging (OPS) of 1.164, showcasing their effectiveness at the plate. With a total of 26 hits, while also drawing 11 walks. he managed to notch 4 RBIs and scored 30 runs throughout the season and successfully stole 15 bases, showcasing their offensive capabilities.





In addition to her offensive prowess, she also has also shown solid defensive skills. With a fielding percentage of .960, they have been reliable in the field, contributing to their team's defensive efforts. .

The watch list for 2029 and 2030 marks just the beginning of these young athletes' exciting journeys. As they continue honing their skills and competing at elite levels, it is clear that they are poised to leave their mark on the softball world. LSU fans should monitor these players, as they may soon adorn the Tigers' colors, showcasing their talents on a grand stage.
