Andre Sam Chooses LSU as His New Home

LSU continues to bring people home as this is starting to feel like priority No.1 with this staff. This time around, with the 3rd pickup out of Louisiana in less than a 4 day span being Andre Sam the 6th year Senior out of Iowa, La. After playing at McNeese State from 2018-2021 and 2022 at Marshall where he had his most productive season to date, he will join the LSU Tigers after he just wrapped up a visit to Baton Rouge and got the full treatment and full court social media press from his now teammates.





The 6'1"-180 lbs registered 53 total tackles this past season at Marshall with 32 being solo, 5.5 were tackle for a loss and he had 7 passes defended and 1 interception . Prior to joining the Marshall Thundering Herd he spent 4 seasons at McNeese where he was a First Team All-Southland Conference as a Junior with Frank Wilson. In his time at McNeese he recorded 179 total tackles, 5 interceptions, 20 passes defended and a fumble recovery.



In his High School Career at Iowa HS Sam had All State at Wide Receiver and Kick Returner. He was a district champion long jumper and as part of the 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams. He also helped Iowa to the Class 3A State Quarterfinals with 48 receptions for 775 yard and 11 touchdowns in his Senior year.





As Brian Kelly and staff continue to get this team ready for their 2nd season, one thing is clear; Louisiana is a priority.
