Class of 2024 OL Jake Grimm Under Armour Next MVP and Ohio Standout

Recently i was able to catch up with 2024 interior offensive lineman Jake Grimm after he won the OL MVP at the Under Armour Next Ohio. At 6'5"-296 lbs Grimm is rated as a 3-Star by the 247 Composite ranking with a national ranking of No. 1201 and the No. 58 overall player in the state of Ohio. Grimm plays his High School Ball at Gahanna Lincoln in Columbus, Ohio.

Grimm currently has 23 D1 offers and things are only picking up after his recent MVP win at the UA Ohio win competing against some big time P5 commitments. I was able to catch up with Jake to get his thoughts on recruiting, his upcoming season and more.

Grimm on his goals for his senior season "my personal goals are first team all conference first team all district 1st team all state. As a team goal I want to win the state chip." On who he is hearing from at the moment "I’m currently hearing from all of the mac schools, Liberty, Ohio state, Boston College, Wake Forest, Appalachian State, and James Madison." On who he look sup to as player he stated "If I had to name one player I really look up to it would be Trent Williams. He has a great story and is the best offensive tackle in the league."

Grimm on where LSU fits in the picture "I haven’t talk to any coaches there. But when I go down there I hope to build a relationship with the coaches! And learn a lot about the University and see if I could see myself playing there and fitting in." He will be down here June 6th-9th , with the DJRS crew that will include 202 TE Commit Tayvion Galloway, 2024 RB prospect Tito Glass and 2026 QB prospect Rocco Williams. Tayvion has been one of the biggest recruiters for this 2024 class so i asked him if Tayvion has been in his ear and he confirmed " 100%! He wants me there with him! I would love to go there and compete with him."

A few things that stand out to me as to why i could see Grimm ending up with an offer before things are all said and done. One would be Kelly and Denbrock's ties to the mid west. Two he fits the mold of a lineman for Brian Kelly as he is not carrying a lot of bad weight and has a mean streak in him. I asked Grimm to describe his style of play "I would say my biggest strong point is how aggressive I am. No matter what the circumstances is I’m trying to put the D lineman‘s Face in the dirt." Third would be the recent surge in his recruitment and i feel like Grimm is really going to make a statement when he is down here. Stay tuned for more to come with Jake Grimm.
