When you talk about the next wave of impact players in softball, one name that continues to rise is Aedre Ault, a 2028 Top 100 prospect making her mark with Outlaws National 2027☠ (16U). Ranked #42 by LineDrive and #45 by Extra Innings Softball (EIS), the 5-foot-9 outfielder and first baseman blends power, speed, and versatility in a way that has already caught the attention of major programs across the country.

High School Dominance
At Eastern High School in Ohio, Ault has quickly established herself as one of the state’s premier athletes. Her Freshman season was nothing short of spectacular:
.648 batting average with 2 home runs
.755 on-base percentage
60 runs scored — finishing 2nd in the entire state of Ohio (only passed because another player’s team advanced deeper in the tournament)
30 stolen bases
1st in Division 7 in runs scored
1st Team All-District and 2nd Team All-State honors
What makes her numbers even more impressive is the competition level. Her district featured the top two teams in the entire state, yet Ault consistently produced against elite pitching.
Offensive Identity
Ault has embraced a clear role in her team’s offensive philosophy: find a way on base, by any means necessary.
“Whether it’s swinging, bunting for a hit, or slapping one into the gap, my job is to keep defenses guessing,” she said. “I decide based on what my coaches need and how the defense is set up. Sometimes it’s a squeeze, sometimes it’s a hard-hit ball — whatever helps the team.”
She’s energized by the lineup around her, too. With Eastern returning its 3-4-5 hitters — who combined for 14 home runs last season — Ault knows her job at the top of the order is vital. “When I get on, I’ve got teammates behind me who can make it count. None of my goals are possible without them.”
Outlaws Edge
On the travel ball circuit, Ault has sharpened her skills against some of the nation’s best while playing for the Outlaws National 2027, a top-10 ranked 16U program.
“Playing with the Outlaws has been a great experience, but it comes with challenges,” she explained. “On a roster like that, you’re pushed every day. You have to earn your spot in the lineup, and I think that pressure makes you better.”
Her performance backs it up. Against national-level competition in 2025, Ault hit .409 with a .444 OBP, while adding 2 home runs, 16 RBIs, and 18 runs scored.
That Outlaws roster also ties Ault directly to LSU’s recruiting future. She is teammates with 2027 LSU commitment Sydney Gonglik, giving the Tigers a built-in connection with one of the top rising players in the 2028 class.
LSU Connection Runs Deep
For Ault, LSU has always carried a special meaning. Growing up in Southeast Ohio, she watched as Joe Burrow rose from her community to the Heisman Trophy and a national championship in Baton Rouge. Burrow’s mother, Robin, was her principal from K–8, and Ault vividly remembers the celebrations that filled her school during his rise to stardom.
“Mrs. Burrow was a great principal,” Ault recalled. “We had assemblies and gatherings when she came back from Joe’s big games or even his Heisman Trophy ceremony. The entire school shared in those moments.”
Burrow’s journey resonates deeply with her own.
“Joe Burrow showed that a small-town Southeast Ohio athlete can achieve big goals.” — Aedre Ault
That connection is one reason LSU stands out to her as she imagines her future. “Playing softball in the South would be a great accomplishment of my hard work,” she said. “The SEC — and LSU especially — has shown our Outlaws team a lot of attention, and that’s very rewarding.”
Mindset & The Bigger Picture
While Ault’s athletic talent is obvious, it’s her mental game and perspective that set her apart. She credits great coaching for preparing her to stay disciplined at the plate and to block out self-doubt.
“Keeping it simple and believing in myself is everything,” she said. “Doubt is a batter’s worst enemy.”
She also carries a team-first mindset, emphasizing chemistry, coaching, and family values as the most important factors in her future college decision. “My Personal goals are what they are. It's a team sport and without my teammates behind me none of those goals are possible.”
And while her dream is to play softball at the next level, she’s never lost sight of the bigger picture. “The goal is to be prepared for life after softball,” Ault said. “My parents have preached that since I was 8 years old.”
What’s Next
With size, speed, and a proven left-handed bat, Ault is the type of player who projects to make an immediate impact wherever she lands. Her ability to contribute in multiple ways, her academic excellence with a 4.2 GPA, and her competitive edge against elite competition make her one of the most complete players in the 2028 class.
And with a direct LSU connection through both Joe Burrow and her Outlaws teammate Sydney Gonglik recently committing to LSU, Tiger fans have even more reason to keep her name circled as one to watch.
Aedre Ault is a name to know — and one LSU faithful may be hearing a lot more of in the years to come.
Projection
Ault projects as a top-of-the-order table-setter with the athleticism to anchor an outfield and the skill set to wreak havoc on the bases. With her ability to pressure defenses, her offensive ceiling is high — especially as her strength continues to develop. Her mentality — “if you can hit, you’ll play” — fits seamlessly into SEC softball.
Summary: A complete package of athleticism, versatility, and intangibles. With her academic strength, leadership qualities, and LSU connections, Aedre Ault is a prospect colleges will want to lock in early.
