Braylon Montero is an up and coming defensive lineman for the John Curtis Patriots in River Ridge, Louisiana. Montero is in the class of 2026 and is wrapping up his freshman year . The 6'2"-280 lbs lineman registered 28 tackles , 1 sack and 5 solo tackles for loss.
Speaking with Montero's father i found out more on his versatility "He has played both ways since 6th grade Offensive line guard and tackle. He also came in top 5 at the Trench King at IMG Academy as a Guard, former LSU guard Nate Livingston was the coach who helped him move to the top tier. He was 13 going against sophomores and juniors. His 9th grade year was when they moved him to strictly DT ."
These days Montero is training with another former LSU standout, Marlon Favorite. I reached out to Favorite to get his thoughts on the up and comer. On what his strong points are "His size for age, pretty strong at the point of attack, and I think he could play at the three Tech and one tech." Regarding where is as far as his age group "I would say he has the football IQ of a high school, senior."
Braylon on his goals for his sophomore season "My goals are to be all district and at least 2nd team all state, and I want to have a 65-70 tackle season and 5+ sacks" As far as players he looks up to " I have always looked up to J.J. Watt and Aaron Donald because those were and are the most dominant people at the position I play." Regarding his own playing style he added "As a player I feel that I am very aggressive and I am a head hunter to who ever has the ball."
On schools he is hearing from he stated "I am talking with LSU, ULL, and Northwestern University." Texas A&M is also keeping tabs on the soon to be sophomore. What is he looking for in a school ? He stated "The things I’m looking for in a school is to get a degree in physical training and therapy because when football is over I want to be a trainer." One thing he made clear is that LSU is very high on his list.
