LSU Head Coach Jay Johnson returns to familiar grounds to replenish outfield talent, in his former team the Arizona Wildcats. This recent addition is Mac Bingham the talented hitting outfielder. The 2023 All Pac-12 Conference team member will fill a void in the outfield created by the loss of Dylan Crews and potentially Brayden Jobert.
Here is a quote on why he chose Arizona out of high school after being selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 40th round of the 2019 Major League Baseball Draft “The coaches are what first got my attention; I really wanted to play for coach Jay. I also felt if my goal was to be a professional baseball player, then this was the best school for me to develop at.”
Last season Bingham played in 58 games and had his best season at the plate where he had .360 Batting Average with a .432 OBP and a 1.006 OPS. Hitting 10 homers with 51 RBIs with extra base hits and 7 Stolen Bases while reaching base on balls 32 times. He also had a .976 fielding percentage.
