Comprehensive List of LSU Softball Accolades

The 2025 LSU Softball season has concluded, leaving fans and players looking forward to a new beginning, however we will take a few minutes to recognize the honors our lady tigers have received. This is not just about the games played but also about the incredible achievements celebrated by these young women. Several players have received prestigious honors, making this a moment to reflect on their hard work, talent, and contributions to the team's success.




This season, the spotlight shone brightly on four remarkable Tigers honored with 2025 All-SEC selections. Among them, infielder Tori Edwards stood out as the SEC Freshman of the Year and earned a First Team All-SEC selection. This recognition showcases Edwards' tremendous potential as a newcomer in the league, solidifying her impact from day one.




All-SEC Honors: Tigers Roar in the SEC


The All-SEC selections were announced by the league office on a sunny Friday morning, eliciting excitement from fans and players. Along with Edwards, catcher Maci Bergeron, pitcher Sydney Berzon, and infielder Danieca Coffey earned spots on the 2025 All-SEC Second Team.



These honors reflect both individual talent and team cohesion, making this season a noteworthy success for the LSU Tigers. The team's ability to excel in the highly competitive Southeastern Conference (SEC) is a testament to their dedication and skill.


The Rise of Tori Edwards


Tori Edwards totally crushed it this season, literally, snagging the SEC Freshman of the Year title! She made a serious impact, landing in the program's top spot for homers with 18 in a tie with Bianka Bell. top 10 with 73 RBI (that’s No. 3) and a killer .493 on-base percentage (No. 8). Edwards hit .375 with 62 hits, scored 52 runs, and drew 37 walks. She was a beast on the field, leading the team with 18 games where she racked up multiple RBIs and 19 games with multiple hits. Fans can’t wait to see what she does next, because if this freshman year is any indication, she’s on track for an epic career at LSU!

Celebrating Maci Bergeron’s Talent


Bergeron has achieved impressive single-season statistics, highlighted by a remarkable .364 batting average and 60 hits. She has also demonstrated his power at the plate with 9 home runs and has touched home plate 37 times this season. Additionally, her watchful eye earned her 45 walks (No.5 in program history for single season), contributing to a stellar .498 on-base percentage (6th in program history for single season) and an outstanding .588 slugging percentage. Defensively, as a catcher, Bergeron has maintained a .994 fielding percentage.





Her talent and work ethic have set her apart, making her a key player in driving the Tigers' success this season. Fans admired her ability to elevate her teammates’ performances and her leadership on the field, which suggests even greater things in the future.

Sydney Berzon's Resilient Season Earns All-SEC Second Team Honors


Sydney Berzon, who struggled with injuries for most of the season, was still named to the 2025 All-SEC Second Team despite not being at full strength. Berzon achieved a 18-8 record in the circle with a 2.46ERA, good enough for 8th in the SEC. She accumulated 104 strikeouts over 139.1 innings pitched, threw five shutouts, recorded two saves, and limited opposing batters to a .227 average. Although her future team is unknown, we commend her for a remarkable career at LSU.

Danieca Coffey: A Career for the Record Books


Infielder Danieca Coffey completes the elite group of Tigers recognized with All-SEC honors. Her agile defensive skills, aided by a fielding percentage of .966, and solid batting became integral to the team's strategy. Coffey has been recognized in the All-SEC Second Team, highlighting her value in achieving LSU’s competitive edge. Coffey has a .388 batting average behind a team-high 69 hits, 55 runs, and 47 walks (ties A.J. Andrews for 3rd in a single season), leading to a .509 on-base percentage which shatters Bianca Bell's all-time record of .487. Coffey, who has a career-best 38 RBIs this season, finished her career at LSU with a .366 batting average, good for 5th all-time at LSU.

National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All- Americans


The accolades extended beyond the SEC, as the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) officially recognized LSU Softball's talent. Maci Bergeron and Tori Edwards were acknowledged as 2025 Division I All-Americans, with Edwards on the second team and Bergeron on the third.






These honors are significant making them LSU’s 27th and 28th All-Americans in the program's history. Their achievements underline the dedication and hard work they've committed to their game throughout the season.


The Smash Sisters: A Powerful Duo


What is more thrilling than individual accolades? Witnessing the chemistry between the duo known as the "Smash Sisters." Together, Bergeron and Edwards contributed to an impressive 27 of the Tigers' total 42 home runs, establishing a potent presence at the plate.





This dynamic pair recorded a combined batting average of .373, along with a total of 122 hits. Their synergy has been a joy for fans to watch, and everyone is eager to see what next season holds for these exceptional players.


D1 Freshman All Americans


Tori Edwards and Jayden Heavener were acknowledged as 2025 Freshman All-Americans by D1 Softball, with Edwards on the first team and Heavener on the second team





Heavener's Record-Breaking Freshman Season: Dominance in the Circle


Heavener achieved a 13-5 record in the circle with a 2.75 ERA, recording 152 strikeouts over 119.2 innings pitched. Her 152 strikeouts rank sixth among freshmen in the program's history. She completed 11 games, including five shutouts, and secured one save. Allowing only 68 hits, she set a program record for the fewest hits allowed in a season, and her .164 opposing batting average ranks seventh in program history for the lowest average allowed in a season. She began her career with a perfect game against Charlotte on February 7, achieving a season-high 13 strikeouts. This was the program's sixth perfect game and the first since 2020, as well as the first by a freshman since 2016. Heavener recorded five games with 10 or more strikeouts.

The honors keep coming with the recent NFCA Gulf All-Region selections. Maci Bergeron, Sydney Berzon, Danieca Coffey, and Tori Edwards were recognized in the First Team, while Sierra Daniel and Jayden Heavener earned spots on the Second Team. Jalia Lassiter made her mark by being named to the Third Team.




These selections highlight the depth of talent within the LSU Softball program, emphasizing a culture of excellence that has become synonymous with the team. Each player's unique strengths contribute to the Tigers' ongoing success.

With a solid foundation built on exceptional talent and teamwork, the upcoming season promises excitement. While fans bid an exceptional leader and talent Danieca Coffey a sendoff to the AUSL and Berzon to the portal. Fans can anticipate continued growth from freshman Tori Edwards and Jayden Heavener, the building blocks of the future. You have an outstanding talent Maci Bergeon who will be the leader of this team to lead the charge. The LSU Tigers seem well-positioned to maintain their competitiveness in the SEC.
