Haleigh Jacobs: The 2028 Softball Phenom Hitting, Learning, and Leading

Haleigh Jacobs is a 2028 Outfielder who has redefined what it means to be a high school freshman. At VR Eaton High School, she dominates with a .404 batting average and .877 OPS, while holding her own with a .294 BA for the elite 14U Texas Glory Gold. Academically, she shines with a 5.6 weighted GPA (4.0 unweighted), placing her in the top 10% of her class and earning her VR Eaton Business Academy Freshman of the Year. As the founder of “Snap It” Earrings, she’s also an entrepreneur solving problems for athletes like herself. With accolades like the 2024 USA Softball High Performance Program (HPP) selection, USSSA Direct Select All American, USSSA Select 30, USSSA All State, and MSP All-American honors, Haleigh is a rising star. In her own words, she shares her journey, from her approach at the plate to her mission to inspire others.

Adapting at the Plate: High School vs. Travel Ball

Haleigh’s stellar high school stats (.404 BA, .877 OPS) and solid travel ball performance (.294 BA with Texas Glory Gold) highlight her versatility, but her approach shifts between the two. “I think that being able to know your objective is a huge part of my approach,” she says. “While playing in high school, I take on more of a leadership role, and I find it’s easier to be aggressive and look for pitches that I’m most confident in. However, in travel ball, it’s very important that we work as a team, and something we work on is playing for each other. I make sure to bring that mentality and look for pitches that will help my team and generate more production.” This team-first mindset, honed in high-stakes USSSA Select 30 games, showcases her ability to balance individual confidence with collective goals.

Growth Mindset from Elite Programs

Selected for the Texas Rangers RBI Academy and the 2024 USA Softball HPP—a pipeline to the Women’s National Team—Haleigh has trained among the best. The experience has shaped her perspective. “A mindset I’ve developed from these programs is to always look to get better,” she explains. “Elite players differentiate themselves by being able to continue to get better. I know that there’s always something I am able to work on or get better at, and whenever I train, I find it really helpful to focus on one or two main things to improve on each day.” This relentless pursuit of improvement, refined alongside USSSA Direct Select All Americans, drives her to elevate her game daily.

All-American Honors as Motivation

With USSSA Direct Select All American, USSSA Select 30, USSSA All State, and MSP All-American honors, Haleigh’s hard work is paying off. These recognitions fuel her drive. “These recognitions are a really big motivation because they remind me of the importance of the work I’m putting in,” she says. “I work continuously towards a bigger goal to become a D1 softball player, and it’s hard to know if you’re on the right track. These recognitions are an important reminder of why I give so much to this sport. It’s really an honor to hold these titles, and I’m really proud of the work I’ve put in to earn them.” For Haleigh, these accolades are a checkpoint on her path to Division I and beyond.

Overcoming Challenges with Texas Glory Gold

Playing for the powerhouse 14U Texas Glory Gold is no easy feat. “One of the toughest challenges has been adjusting to playing with and against the best of the best every weekend,” Haleigh admits. “At this level, you can’t afford to let mistakes pile up mentally. I had to learn how to give myself grace, bounce back quickly, and focus on what I can control. That mindset shift helped me grow not just as a player, but as a teammate too.” Facing competition akin to USSSA All State events, she’s learned to stay resilient, leaning on her teammates and coaches to turn challenges into opportunities for growth. Clutch Moment to Cherish

Haleigh’s favorite softball moment is a testament to her clutch gene. “My favorite softball moment was a clutch hit I was able to secure and qualify us for the Alliance Super Cup,” she recalls. “We were down by two runs, and I drove in the tying runs with a ground ball to the right side. It was a really important moment for our entire team, and a great way to be able to play a role in a high-pressure situation. It showcased how good players become great teammates.” That moment, celebrated with her Texas Glory Gold squad, underscores her ability to deliver when it matters most.

Inspiring Young Minority Players

As an MSP All-American, Haleigh is committed to being a role model for young minority softball players. “Representation matters,” she says. “I hope when younger girls see me, they feel seen too. I want them to know they belong here on the biggest stages. I want them to see that their voice, their culture, their story can exist in softball just as boldly as their talent. It’s really important that I become that role model that I didn’t know existed when I was in their shoes. If I can be someone they look to and say, ‘If she can do it, so can I,’ then I’m doing something right.” Her platform with Minority Softball Prospects amplifies her mission to inspire.

“Snap It” Earrings: Born from Softball, Built for Athletes

Haleigh’s entrepreneurial venture, “Snap It” Earrings, was sparked by a common athlete’s problem. “The idea for this business came from continuously losing my earrings, especially when I’m playing,” she explains. “It was a problem I’ve noticed a lot with myself, other players, and others in my life. Running this company has taught me how to translate my determination and leadership skills, honed through softball, into a corporate setting.” Founded as a VR Eaton Business Academy freshman—where she earned Freshman of the Year—Haleigh’s business mirrors her on-field drive, blending creativity and discipline to solve a real-world issue for athletes.

Chasing Purpose in Softball and Beyond

Haleigh’s ambitions are as big as her talent. “My ultimate goal is to play Division I softball and become someone who doesn’t just chase success, but helps others reach their own goals too,” she says. “Whether that’s by leading on the field, mentoring younger players, or simply being someone others can look up to. I want my journey to mean more than just stats. As for entrepreneurship, I see it as an extension of that same mindset: creating solutions, staying disciplined, and learning to lead in new spaces. Balancing both means staying grounded in my ‘why’ and knowing that growth in one area always fuels the other. At the end of the day, I want to build a life that inspires others, on and off the field. Whether it’s with a bat or a business plan, I’m chasing purpose, not just performance.” With a 5.6 weighted GPA and top 10% class rank, she manages her time with precision, leaning on family during busy USSSA seasons to keep “Snap It” running smoothly.

A Star on the Rise

Going into her sophomore year Haleigh Jacobs is more than a softball standout—she’s a scholar, entrepreneur, and trailblazer. With a bat in her hands, a 4.0 unweighted GPA, and a growing business, she’s proving that purpose and hard work can redefine success. As she continues to shine on the field and inspire off it, one thing is clear: this 2028 prospect is building a legacy that’s bigger than the game
