BATON ROUGE — After to dropping a heartbreaker in a 3-2 loss to No.20 Tennessee last Friday the Tigers returned to action on Sunday against a stout Florida team. Inside a roaring Maravich Center, LSU Volleyball delivered the kind of moment Tiger fans have been waiting for. Behind a historic performance from Jurnee Robinson, the Tigers stunned No. 23 Florida in a five-set thriller — their first victory over a ranked opponent since 2022.
Robinson was, quite simply, unstoppable. The sophomore outside hitter erupted for a career-high 34 kills, 12 digs, and seven blocks (including two solo) to record her seventh double-double of the season. Her 38.5 total points rank among the most dominant single-match efforts in LSU history.
That effort didn’t go unnoticed. Robinson was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week — her second time earning the honor this season and the fifth of her career.
Across two matches versus ranked opponents, Robinson averaged 6.70 kills per set on .338 hitting, while adding 10 blocks and making program history as the first Tiger ever to record back-to-back 30-kill matches.
Season Snapshot & Road Ahead
The victory pushed LSU to 9–6 overall and 2–2 in SEC play, marking a pivotal turning point in the Tigers’ season. Offensively, LSU was in full sync against the Gators, finishing with a season-high 66 kills and a .250 team hitting percentage, while limiting Florida to .201. It was a statement win — and perhaps the spark this young, talented group needed.
