LSU Softball and September 1st Recruiting Ramp Up

Updated: 12 minutes ago

In the world of softball there is no bigger day to a high school junior softball player than September 1st. That is the day college coaches can start recruiting them officially. Last year for the LSU softball program it was the beginning of a recruiting rampage that led to Beth Torina and staff adding 5 of the nation's top 11 ranked players per Softball Americas rankings in route to the top ranked class. After crossing the threshold of August that day is soon approaching and once again, they will be looking to land the top class again. In this article we will take a look at a few players that I have been tracking, that I feel will be firmly in LSU's sights and would help them to land another top class.

Sydney Gonglik out of Scenery Hill, PA is someone that I feel is very high on the Tigers board for players to add. I first saw Sydney crushing balls at an LSU camp and she clearly stood out. I have been keeping tabs on her ever since and one thing stands out to me. She is every bit as great of a pitcher as she is a hitter. She will have her pick of schools come September 1st. I fully expect the LSU coaching staff to be one of the first that has her phone ringing. Her and her Outlaws 09 National teammates season ended in the Tier 1 Elite 8 where she hit .562 with a 1.188 Slugging while also dominating on the mound.

If you have been paying attention to my covering of High School Softball you will know that Bryli Seifert an infielder out of Platte City, MO is another one of my favorites. Seifert like Gonglik has been highlighted on my site. Seifert was named the MVP of the Alliance Fastpitch 2024 Super Cup All-Tournament. She followed that up with a dominant summer of travel ball with her Top Gun teammates. Like Gonglik she will have teams lining up to earn her commitment and I would be shocked if LSU was not one of them.

Another player is Finlee Williams from Melissa,Tx and hails from the same Texas Glory program that yielded LSU standout Tori Edwards. Word on the street is that Finlee is the top position player in the 2027 class. She has been high regarded for years now. Much like Tori she has a huge bat as she hit .532 with 24 bombs and 82 RBIs in the Alliance this season. This earned her a spot on the 2025 Alliance Super Cup All-Tournament Team. Be sure she will be on Torina's radar to add the commit list.

If you look at the Tigers haul in the transfer portal you will notice they are going after not only hitters with high averages but players with power. This next player is someone who excels in both categories. She just so happens to be a teammate of Finlee with Texas Glory, Hope Gaudio from Mansfield, Tx is one of the premier infielders in the country. Playing the toughest competition in the country in the Alliance Super division she hit .400 with 13 Homeruns. Couple that with a .690 Average in Texas 6A with 17 bombs and 64 RBIs

Macie Bryant of Barbers Hill in Texas is another athlete I have had the privilege to highlight and is someone I think will be high on LSU's radar as well as every other school in the countries radar. Both Extra Innings and Line Drive Media list her as the Number 1 pitcher. Her and her Impact Jazz 16u teammates were the AFCS Runner up where she pitched 45 innings with 45 IP with 57K and 4BB.
