The 2028 group is headlined by a star-studded Louisiana core, and it’s a class LSU fans should be tracking closely right now. At the front are two names that already feel like priorities for me in securing the state's top talent in the 2028 class.

Baylor Bockhaus and Joley Bennett aren’t just standing out and they’re producing at an elite level on winning programs. Bockhaus, a key piece for a Calvary Baptist squad sitting at 33-1, is hitting .515 with a staggering 1.841 OPS, including 21 home runs and 67 RBIs. That’s not projection — that’s dominance against real competition.
Joley Bennett has been just as impactful for D’Arbonne Woods, hitting .537 with a 1.659 OPS, while driving in 46 runs and showing consistent extra-base production. Different lineup, same result — she’s a problem every time she steps in the box.
These are the types of hitters LSU has built its identity around, impact bats with proven production, not just tools. Then there’s Evie West of West Monroe who continues to build momentum in her own right. After earning Hitter of the Week, she’s forcing her way into the conversation with consistent performance and rising confidence at the plate.
And that’s what defines this group.
It’s not just depth, it’s proven production at the top, backed by a strong Louisiana pipeline, the exact formula LSU has used to stack elite recruiting classes.

2029: The Foundation
If the 2028 group represents what’s next, the 2029 class is the foundation LSU is getting in early on — and it’s a group loaded with projection, athleticism, and already proven production.A few names immediately stand out.
Ella McConnell is a player I’ve already had on my watchlist, and she continues to show why. Hitting .473 with a 1.197 OPS on the travel circuit, she brings a steady offensive profile with the ability to consistently put pressure on defenses. She’s not just producing she’s doing it against high-level competition. In her Freshman year, when giving the opportunity she is hitting .555 on the season.
Then there’s LG Goldin, who I recently featured, and for good reason. A 1st Team All-State selection and state champion as a freshman, Goldin pairs early accolades with real production, tallying 23 home runs, 96 RBIs, and a 1.582 OPS across travel and school ball. That’s a rare combination of power and consistency at this stage.
And behind the plate, Samantha Johnson gives this class a completely different dimension. Already recognized as one of the top freshman catchers in the country, she’s hitting .531 with 51 hits, 42 RBIs, and 43 runs scored, while leading her team to a 26-6 record. That kind of production from a catcher stands out immediately.
That’s what makes this group so intriguing. It’s not just one type of player — it’s impact bats, positional strength behind the plate, and early-established production across multiple levels, all showing up before this class is even close to being fully formed.

2030: Early Identifiers
The 2030 group is smaller, but it brings early storylines that already carry weight.
Ella Rackley immediately stands out, not just because of the name. As the younger sister of LSU signee Addie Rackley, there’s a natural connection — but Ella is building her own path. She’s already showing the type of presence and ability that makes her a name to track moving forward, not just a familiar last name.
Then there’s Malloree Harr, who brings an entirely different level of credibility this early in the process. As a member of the 15U Team USA roster, she’s already competing on an international stage — something you don’t see often at this age. That experience alone puts her in a different category when evaluating long-term upside.
And that’s what defines this group.
It’s not about volume yet — it’s about early indicators. Bloodlines, national exposure, and high-level experience that suggest this class could take shape in a big way over the next few years.
