Balancing Sports and Life

With so many commitments, it’s impressive how Kylie manages her time. She shared insights on her balancing act:

"I have people around me, like coaches and my peers, who understand that I play different sports, meaning it’s supported, which makes it much easier for me. Basketball season is also on its own, while flag and softball are at the same time. If a flag and softball game are on the same day, of course, I’ll be going to softball, but there’s a balance between both. I’m capable enough to make it work." This supportive network allows Kylie to excel without overwhelming stress, which is crucial for young athletes trying to succeed.

The Pursuit of Excellence

Kylie's goals are clear: "I’d love to be recruited at a Division 1 school that feels like home."

With her high aspirations, Kylie handles pressures effectively, remaining focused on her love of the game.

Handling Rankings and Pressure

Despite being ranked as the No. 1 infielder by Extra Innings, Kylie stays grounded. She explains, "It doesn’t make me feel pressure. All I have to do is continue playing my carefree game. I love softball, so I think of it as I'm just doing what I do best. It doesn't make me strive to be better, meaning to stay at the top of my game and play to the best ability I know I can be."

Her love for the game fuels her success, illustrating that true enjoyment drives performance rather than fear of judgment.

Kylie Holden: A Versatile Athlete with Leadership and Grit

Kylie Holden reflects the spirit of young athletes striving for excellence. With her impressive skills, supportive environment, and dedicated heart, she is sure to advance in the world of softball.

We talked about what she believes makes her an excellent player, and she said, " I believe that I have great leadership skills, grit, and everything it takes to win. I also am a lovable person on and off the field. Someone who can make you laugh when you're down. I am that bright light." When it comes to the physical tools, she says, "I would describe myself as an all-around player. I can play any position on the field. I can hit singles, doubles, triples, home runs, drop a bunt, even slap if you need. I would say I am very versatile, and I can do whatever I need to do to get the job done."

I asked her to give me one moment she felt unstoppable, and she recalled, "There was a game where my team and I were in the bottom of the seventh inning, runner on third, I was the walk-off run up to bat. I hit a home run to walk off the game. Everyone was up, jumping, running around, it was a great memory. I will never forget it. It was heartwarming."

When asked about her motivation, she states, "What drives me in softball is the fact that I know I can make it if I put the work in and bring it to game results. I know what I can do and what I can bring to the table. I think that I am different from others and that I’m gifted differently. My parents also drive me by being there with me throughout my whole journey since I was 7. From taking me to lessons, going to the field with me, traveling with me to all my tournaments, paying for hotel rooms, rental cars, and plane tickets."

College is a ways off for her; however, she did tell me she does have some schools that stand out to her early on: "Yes, I really love LSU#Bethsmybestietie." She added " I also really like Florida, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Florida State, and Georgia."

This is one prospect I will be keeping a close eye on as it pertains to the LSU Tigers !!
